Is this SharePoint 2010? If so, just set the value in the QueryFields for the secondary data source first and then run the query. It will filter server-side which is faster. There are some limitations to filtering in the form for browser-based forms, which is what you have with the Webpart.
If this is SharePoint 2007, you don't have the ...

Hi Ferrominera,
Maybe it's because there's case difference. The comparison is case sensitive, so if the username is returning all lower case "smith" and your rule is comparing against "Smith" it will fail. To solve this, you want to use the translate function. Search this forum for "translate case" and ...

Hi Kully,
ElCapitan1987 is correct. Just add another rule+action to your button which submits to SharePoint. Probably you should do this before you send the email since if it fails the submit (for example, if they are offline), you will want to error out and not send email.
Good luck!

Hi Tom and ClayDevin,
I responded to Tom's other thread with a suggestion to convert the data connection to a UDC, but the definitive answer is to look up the error (by correlation ID) in the SharePoint logs since it will contain much more information about the root cause.
Here's a tool you can install to easily view the errors: ...

First thing to do is to look at the Design Checker in InfoPath which should tell you if there's an issue.
My guess is that it has to do with the GetUserProfileService service existing on a separate machine in the same domain (because you have multiple front ends?). If so, try converting the data connectoin to UDC and see if that fixes it.

Hi Jesse and welcome,
SharePoint Workspace doesn't officially support InfoPath because of these data connections.
We have built solutions for connecting to SQL and synchronizing offline - take a look at Qdabra's DBXL Client product. It's inexpensive and works well for your specific scenario when coupled with DBXL Server, but it ...

Hi Ivan - welcome to InfoPath and SharePoint,
We have built a solution for your scenario and have several enterprise customers using it. It synchronizes the data from a SharePoint or Office 365 site down to a local DB. The tool is inexpensive. Here's a link to a summary video we did a couple years ago that shows the SharePoint sync to ...

Hi Sullyman and welcome,
If you want the forms to display in the browser, you'll need a BCS connection or a Web service in between the form. That's because the browser doesn't forward credentials to the DB. If the DB was on the same server as SharePoint and you custom configure the UDCx file (create a Data Connections library, and ...
