Have you tried it yet?
I would think your filter would go at the /d:LaborSummary[RecordID = Field]/@NOW_ETC_HRS. I would be calculating the rowID that needs to be updated. Place that in a field or put the calculation in the filter are there.
Typically you will have to test a bit till you get it the way you need it.

Clay, I have discovered that we could get round all this by simply publishing the form to the new sharepoint subsite. At the moment the form is being copied from a list in the main site. Is there a way to programmitcally change the publish url in the manifest.xsf file ???

We will research this and see what the issue may be. Often SharePoint does not play well with others and requires some tweeks.
