I would use conditions in a rule maybe place it on the Outstanding Flag check box and make one for true and false if necessary and pull the check out of the formula.
So create a rule with a condition OM=1 setfield with formula where you replace not(not(Outstanding_flag)) with 1
Hope that helps

I'm trying to create a conditional default for a field and am having problems with the "else" clause.
Formula: concat(substring(outstanding_max, 1, not(not(Outstanding_Flag)) * string-length(outstanding_max)), substring(no_outstanding_max, 1, (not(Outstanding_Flag)) * ...

It is your data type in access or sql. If you do not use a variable type then the field is always X characters and spaces are padded to the end of data to fit the field.
You can update the field in the DB to a NVarChar or something and then update all of your data to remove the extra space.

Set up a data connection to retrieve data from a SharePoint list. In the last step of this set-up, when selecting fields. Make sure that ID is one of the fields you select.
When associating the drop-down box with ...

Clay,
Lookups are working, finally figured it all out. Only 1 strange behavior to ask.. When the user enters an account ID into the textbox, if the account ID entered is less than the field size of the table structure, we have to type in a space at the end of the text box. Do you know how to fix this feature?
Thanks Ed

Hi Clay, Thank you for your reply. Is there any chance that you could explain what I need to do in infopath to set up your answer.
Thank you

Hi,I think I don't understand what you've said. Did you mean I should try to retrieve an empty string field?
I've tried it with an empty string field and it neither works: the same error. But the most strange is that if I copy another field retrieving that works in other function, it neither works. I can't understand ...

Have you tried explicitly setting your cantidadmaxima field?
You may look at using a string field that is empty. The trick is figuring out which side of the equation is causing the problem.

Hi,
my:cantidadmaxima is a double field. Should I change it to another type?
I tried changing it to string, but nothing changes
Thanks.
