  • Re: Easiest way to add a error message to a lookup

If you create your form from a data source then if you enter wrong data into the query field, and then query the information, this error message will show:  The specified query did not return any data.  You can revise the query, or you can click New record to enter a new record.  Then once you close that error the data fields that ...

  • Re: Workflow Security

you could create a rule that would switch views to a read only format.  But since you need someone else to modify the document after it was submitted then you could check to see if the current user is the same as the person that submitted it and then show a message stating that they can not edit it and then close the form.  However with ...

  • Workflow Security

After a user submits a form and launches a workflow, how do I prevent him from modifying the document?  If I demote his permissions, then no one else (e.g. Approvers) can modify the document.  How have any of you solved this problem?

Do you use a query or lookup button? Typically I would use a rule on the button after the query, where query field account name in not blank and data field account name is(nothing found). Then the action would be your message or an expression box concat("What were you thinking entering ", ActName, "? That does not work!")

  • Re: Infopath form giving "Query is too complex" error when submitting to MS Access db

Finally getting around to trying this but I'm wondering if there is a way to create a new form without losing all of my binding.  Obviously I have a ton of bound fields since I have about 186 fields I'm trying to submit to the table but when I create a new form and copy/paste or drag/drop....  every field becomes unbound and in ...

Yes, you need to do something to the effect of: newDateRow.Attributes.addNamedItem( xmlNil ); I'm not sure if this is the exact syntax in JScript.

  • re: Display a Save As Dialog Box

Sorry, I do not believe there is a workaround for the browser. Browser forms have numerous limitations.
