I guess a little more detail here. I'm showing one "finished_cover_assembly" record at a time, and I have a navigation bar that lets me go to the next record, previous record, etc. So instead of doing a query which turns the dataset into just 1 record and makes my nav bar useless, I want to keep the whole dataset and just move ...

I have a situation where I'd like to get the position of a given record. Attached is my field setup.
I have the queryFields/finished_cover_assembly/part_number query field on my form, but instead of running a query when a value is put into that text box and a button is pushed I instead want to run a rule that sets the CurrentRecordNumber ...

Yikes. Okay, I was going to suggest REST, but that won't work on SHP Online. I'm not really sure what to suggest... is there a different way you could limit data? Maybe you only need data for a certain month or year and could use a calculated column to return that for the date in the field you are currently querying?

Can someone describe how to trigger an email from an entry made in an InfoPath form?

I'm pretty sure this is a limitation of the InfoPath object model - kinda like how you can't use a rule to change a view based on a field change and also can't do that in code. I'm pretty sure you'll get an "Invalid context for OM call" error.

Hilary,
Thank you for your response. I now remember that I was using a button in the 2007 version to close the form. Is there a way I can close a form based on field conditions. If there is a way via code can you provide a sample of th4 code that could be used?
Thanks in Advance,
Rodman

I am not using Sharepoint but is making this form as a Report that pulls data from SQL which is entered through the ...

Hi - you can't using a SharePoint List connection with query fields - those are only equivalence, so you can say "Date = this" or "Date = that" but nothing more complex, unfortunately. Is this SharePoint Online or is it an on premises server?
