  • Re: Persistent InfoPath error

I was thinking that as well, but when I go to Start - Programs -  Microsoft Office - Infopath, the 'getting started' screen opens but then the app immediately closes. I think this is because my script is being executed and has a me.close statement in it (I know the script is being executed because a new document is being ...

Strange indeed. Have you tried clearing your cache? It could be that a cached version of the form is being loaded instead of the new one.

  • Re: Infopath 2003 + Sharepoint

  • Re: Infopath 2003 + Sharepoint

Ok from looking at the screen shots I think I understand what you are doing. I think your bigger need is you want to know who is completing the form. If you knew who the user was filling the form then that could be stored within it. The answer is a Active Directory Web Service.  This will give you the current user and you can look up their ...

  • Re: Infopath 2003 + Sharepoint

ok I understand.  Just one last question.  is there something to designate file as currentfile.  The file wouldn't be known unless opened, as forms will be created all the time once they fill out a request form.  So I wouldn't know ahead of time what files name is as tons would be created.  So how would i know what ...

It really does not matter what the field type is, the principle is the same. Once you know the filename you want then when you add the field use the filter button in the lower left to set it for title = filename.  Then you will see the record where the filter is true.
