• Re: Getting user name

Hi First off I will point out some of the bad points of Full Trust: it has to be installed locally, so each update has to be installed and updated by the individual; the install each time has to be managed as a java app or a .MSI with 4 to 5 steps in each. If the form was on the intranet it would mean an install each time. I ...

  • Re: Error Handling

Hi Error catching not my speciality but if I understand you correctly the forms are erroring out before they even boot or get caught in your logic. If this is the case it has to be something fairly funadmental like a data source error, permissions error, or design error. If you are using Infopath 2007 i presume it the design checker ...

  • Re: Getting user name

Hi Clay, THanks for the help again. I don't have experience working with ADService or CAML, so I'll have to explore these options. There was another solution posted by somebody on here that makes use of accessing WScript via ActiveX, but that displays a security dialogue every time the form is opened unless the form has Full Trust. ...

  • Re: Populate repeating table with data from web service

Hi Not done this with a web service before but trying the same thing with a database and found the following to work. What I found to work was if you used an event to drive the query like a button push or after a field gets filled in, then execute the query to return the data in the repeating table. I hope this helps

Hey Tom. Your issue is that you have SharePoint 2003 and that tutorial is for 2007. I would look at the AD Web Service here http://www.qdabra.com/en/products/ADWebService.aspx You can checkout the video or the documentation. It gives you not only name, but email, address, manager, what ever is in Active Directory. This can be a ...

  • Re: Persistent InfoPath error

Hehe - leave it to me to unwittingly create and release a rogue application on my own computer! But what you describe is exactly what's happening. I'll go ahead and post the code here in case it's helpful. I didn't write it myself, it's converted over to .NET from a VB script my department manager found on the web. It's in ...

  • Re: Disable close cross

Hi HockeyJac and welcome, Unfortunately, I never got a reply from Frank and he is now a program manager at Microsoft. My recollection was that he had to write code to get the window handle for InfoPath and then using Windows GDI functions disable the cross. It's not something that we have time to investigate now for the forum, and I'm ...

  • Re: Cannot connect to local Access database while no network connection

Hi Thefooser1 and welcome! Some questions first: What other data connections do you have in the form? They may be causing problems if they require net connectivity. Did you originally design the form when access was on a server? If so, the data connection may not be updated. Was the form template published to a website or did you ...
