  • Re: Warning Messages

    Well, this is the problem. Running on a share is more restrictive than Domain Trust. I've explained why in other posts. Anyway, the solution is to publish the form to a Website so that it can be Domain trust. Access is not a best practice for groups of people and you'll want to move to SQL. You could use MSDE or SQL EXPRESS - both of these ...

  • Re: XPath to get multiple attribute values

    Oh, doh! eval(eval(descendant-or-self::node()/@error, 'concat(../@my:error, ";")'), "..") This is better, but not consistant. If I have a blank field this causes my rules to set an erorr message which is found by this expression.  If I enter alpha chars into a integer field this causes some other validation ...

  • Re: XPath to get multiple attribute values

    Hi Peter, Did you read the link? You need at least two evals to get the recursion working. One eval won't do it. Good luck!

  • Re: XPath to get multiple attribute values

    Hi again I tried using eval in the default value:   xdMath:Eval(/descendant-or-self::node()/@my:error, 'concat(@my:error, ";")')  and all I got was a single semi-colon in the field.  Also tried using text() in the concat with the same result.  Looks promising though... Thanks

  • Re: Warning Messages

    I am using an Access Database My security setting is "Automatially determine security level based on form's design".  I changed it to Domain but continued to get the error messages. The infopath form and database are in a file on a shared drive with all users having access to the programs and drive based on their Employee ID ...

  • Re: userName() blank

    Hi I don't have a UDC setup for this form yet as I found them a PITA to create.  Your tools might make this easier tho.  I have a feeling I might have fiddled with proxy settings also... will check that. Cheers

  • Re: XPath to get multiple attribute values

    Hi Peter, Glad to see the posts! Have you looked at the eval operator? That's one way to concat multiple nodes into one field that doesn't require code. Check out the following post for an introduction to eval in InfoPath: http://blogs.msdn.com/infopath/archive/2006/04/05/569338.aspx. Not sure this is exactly what you need, but it's ...

  • Re: userName() blank

    Hi Jonesie and welcome! I'm assuming you have a UDC file set up for the Web Service that your browser form is using. Please check that proxy service is set to false.

    Hi The setup: InfoPath form in forms services. WSS site using Forms Auth with a custom provider Web service to expose user details When my form loads I want to pre-populate some fields with the current user details.  In the form load rules I query the web service and use the userName() to pass as the single parameter to the ...

  • XPath to get multiple attribute values

    Hi We have a complex multipart form that is implenented using Form Services. The validation error messages display by Forms Services are, shall we say, less than desirable.  We also need to save forms in a DRAFT state without validations AND I dont want to use any managed code. So we have come up with a method of displaying an error ...
