  • Characters in Word cannot be loaded into InfoPath XML

    Microsoft Word's auto-formatting creates special ASCII characters that are illegal in XML and, thus, in InfoPath. Here is a list of ASCII Control Characters that are unique to Word, followed by their ASCII hex value: Tab (hex 09) New line (hex 0B) Page break (hex 0C) Paragraph (hex 0D) Column break (hex 0E) Non-breaking hyphen (hex ...

  • Re: Submitting forms to External (Portal) sharepoint sites

    Have you tried it just using a data connection, without code, to see if you can successfully submit?  One thing is make sure your portal site is in your Internet or Trusted security zone in Internet Explorer. You may have read access and not write access. Verify your permissions on this site.

  • Re: Automatically add repeating section

    Another limitation of the default database connectivity in InfoPath is the field size limit and no large data types, such as rich text. You can migrate to SQL and web services and remove this limitation. I think with code you could accomplish this. The only trick would be triggering on character entry while they are entering data. If this is ...

  • Automatically add repeating section

    Hi, Is there a way to automatically add a repeating section when a user types more than 254 characters in a field in InfoPath 2003? I'm using MS Access and it restricts the number of charcters in my text fields. I tried setting to memo but InfoPath didn't like it. Thanks

  • Re: userName() blank

    Jonesie, If you're not afraid of writing a little code, you can set the field's value with one line of C# in the form's onload event: MainDataSource.CreateNavigator().SelectSingleNode("//[xpath expression here]").SetValue(Application.User.UserName); This is what I do, but with the code behind the form, it requires a little ...

  • Re: Working with Infopath, SQL and Outlook.

    One thing to is that if you have it setup as a database form then the main submit should be used in addition to an email submit so that your data is being saved back to the database.

  • Re: Working with Infopath, SQL and Outlook.

    So you went through the publishing wizard and published the form to SharePoint? Does everyone who uses the form have access to the site? They should be able to access the site and the document library and open a new form. This will verify they have the access they need. The person who recieves the email should then be able to open the ...
