Yes, i always have to use the Dynamic string builder in SPD, because I don't use code in my solutions, and I don't know how to modify the URL given by a built-in Approval workflow.
Earlier, I mentioned using the ID, but actually you use the filename, which I think is referenced by the piece of metadata named "Encoded Absolute ...

I do this by having a 2nd field that is hidden via conditional formatting unless someone selects "Other" from the main dropdown list. If someone selects "Other," then I make the text box visible and require it to be filled out using conditional formatting on my submit button. Then, with my workflow, I check to see ...

This is without using sharePoint, right?
Maybe publish the form template to a network drive, and then they just go to the template, double-click it, fill it out for a given restaurant, then submit. You setup the submit to auto-create a filename based on the restaurant being inspected so that you ensure uniqueness and make it easy on the ...

You're talking about two different things. Versioning in the forms library will ensure that each time a particular form is edited, it creates a new version. Even when you select this checkbox in the Form Options, it can still be opened and used as a rich client form, but it will have some ...

1) I cannot fathom such a setup or how it is even possible, so either it's beyond my abilities/knowledge, or I just don't understand what you mean.
2) It definitely works - you just have to get the URL right. I don't think "Lists/ItemList" gets included in the URL - just the site URL - because the OWSSVR&List part ...

Yeah, it's a limitation of Forms Server. If you notice, the built-in workflow is sending the URL to the XML file. However, this is not the URL of the browser-version of that file. Go open one of your forms and notice the URL. This is the URL you must send via email in order for users to open it directly in the ...
