Oh. In the Loading event. Well, I tried it in a loading event (IP 2010, Filler, C#) and had an error:
System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException
Invalid context for OM call.
I'm assuming you've had errors as well?
So - the error means that we can't use this method in the loading event. I'm not super surprised by that. Perhaps ...

I really really hope you are using IP 2010 & ShP 2010? Are you? If so, you can just add a data connection to the list, but don't automatically query on load. Then you can set the query field to the value you want to search for and run the query in form rules.

Hi - are you setting the status flag prior to submitting to the document library? After submitting, save the XML from SharePoint and take a look at the field's value in a text editor - is it what you expect? Then you can compare that to your conditional formatting, make sure the values are exactly the same....

Hi:
There isn't an easy way to convert the form, to the best of my knowledge - usually starting over is less trouble and isn't as laborious as I often expect it will be.
One thing to keep in mind is the way your library will expose any repeating data in your form - if you are promoting a repeating field, you have options for how to ...

You'll probably want to use SaveToSharePoint to save your file to document library. If you want to attach the document to a list item instead, you can do that as part of submitting your items to the list - here's a blog post on that for qRules 4.2

Hi - by most up to date database, what do you mean? Do they each have the database locally?
I mean, you could store a value in the database in a table called "last updated" and if it is greater than a certain date, disable the submit button, I suppose....
In general, if you do mean that there are multiple copies of the database itself ...

Usually the first thing I check for "works in preview not in browser" is postback. Right click the checkbox controls and under the Properties, select the Browser tab. Try setting postback to always and see if this makes a difference.
