  • Re: Hyperlink to file in InfoPath 2003

So using google in your field works? If so then it must be the hyperlink syntax.  It seems to me I remember something that the hyperlink must be a web based one (http://). It could be a security setting in IE but if it opens via the browser then it should be OK. The file type link might not work.  You could try a UNC path too ...

  • Re: Employee cannot open forms saved on shared drive.

if shared drives are the only way for your environment to work with, then by all means i hope your company is using a DFS structure. without DFS, your users will scream at you when the server goes down. with DFS, is one of the DFS hostings  servers is down for maintenance, other will pick up the redirections not 100% foolproof, but ...

  • Re: Hyperlink to file in InfoPath 2003

Hi Clay, Thanks for the quick reply. I've saved the path in a field and then linked a hyperlink control to that field, but still no good. In design mode, when I right-click on the hyperlink and choose to open the hyperlink, I get the error "Access is denied". In preview mode, clicking on the hyperlink just does nothing. The link ...

  • Re: Refresh Secondary Data Source Connection via code...

Assuming you are using InfoPath 2007-style OM (InfoPath 2007 allows you to use both 2003 and 2007 object models, 2007 is preferred) you can (re)query the dataconnection by calling the Execute() method on it. For example, if your connection is called MySharePointListConnection, you can refresh it by calling the following line from your ...

Hello Omar and welcome to the forums! It's pretty easy to achieve what you to do, all you need is to get the data connection object in code and call a query method on it. However this will differ between versions of InfoPath. What version of InfoPath are you using? What language are you writing your custom code in?

  • Re: Employee cannot open forms saved on shared drive.

You have stated the best practice Barmatt What I have seen before is that the map drive or UNC is different so that they are accessing it in a matter differently than it was published. When the Form is created it checks that the client is accessing it at the published location and XML files check this to. So if everyone use \\server\share ...

  • Re: Employee cannot open forms saved on shared drive.

I don't have a solution that is particularly solve your form opening issue, but I do have a solution that would help ensure no loss data.  You should have all your forms setup to save all the content in a sql server database or another global database that way it would ensure that no data is lost.  The data can then be made usefull ...

  • Re: Disabling 'Action' menu items...

To my knowledge there is no good way to set granular permissions on a library. All the permisisons are on the library itself, not on individual documents and the library features are not controlable. You can remove the items you mentioned permanently but this would be for everyone. We use SQL to store the forms and data and then we can ...
