This is in a browser form? No you are using 2003.  So I do not think that should make a difference. Just because it is stored in in SP2003 it stillopens and is rendered locally. If it is hidden how do you see the value? :)

This looks correct... I am not sure about them being choice columns. What exactly are the three columns? WeekNum  Start    End Week1       3/31     4/6 Week2       4/7      4/13   Then your filter looks correct ...
