Hi,
I've searched the forum but cannot find a how to do this....hope you can help.
I have 2 infopath 2003 templates (A & B). I want to copy some sections from a view in template 'A' into a section in template 'B' without having to re-do all the data bindings.
I have heard that you can do it somehow by creating a new ...

I think you are misinterpreting what you can actually do here.
First, there is not "InfoPath Server" (at least not by that name). You are perhaps referring to SharePoint 2007 wherein you can set up InfoPath forms to be delivered as browser forms. I don't know what that costs, but I'm sure it's not inexpensive.

Your mistake is very common--which is not understanding how current() works.
If your XPath is a filter on the Hardware repeater, then current() = the repeating Order node.
The XPath current()/my:myFields/my:Order/my:HWID means absolutely nothing... it points to nowhere.

If export to PDF is not supported in browser enabled forms, then you will need another method. This is not a straightforward thing to do. Essentially the process is, on load you check the current form against the one stored in your system, and if it doesn't match, you tell them to go open it from the appropriate location, and then close down the form.
However, you need to keep the forms more locked down and out of the reach of users. ...

Great! Glad to hear it's working!

Ved, your code doesn't really do much. You could set both connections to query on load, rather than on change, and you'd get the same effect without the additional wait time after each change. This is because you are not doing anything in your connection to filter your results. And since you mentioned you have more than one pair of these ...

I'm having trouble finding any way to publish a form i just created. i dont have access to a microsoft infopath server, as i expect that would cost a fortune. and i dont have Visual Studio Pro so i apparently cant create an msi file.

Phil, here's an article I wrote a while back that shows how to do just this:
