• Re: Error:InfoPath will remove the following fields from your SharePoint list

Are you using an InfoPath list form? Seems like you saved it locally and then republished. Probably, I would go back to the list and customize and then make your changes again without saving the XSN locally.

  • Re: Line Break gone after post back

Hi David, Why not just insert rows into a repeating structure? What you are doing is a bit of hackeroo. K2 InfoPath forms can handle code. qRules has an insert, or you could use the out-of-box default data way to add rows (but make sure K2 ignores the blank ones). The hackeroo is problematic because of the way in which data is stored in the ...

  • Re: IP 2010 and MS Access - populate txt box based on query

Hi MKyle, When you create an InfoPath form from a database, it should give you a form with a Query button. You can query the main data source for a record based on the field values. That will return one because it keeps the correspondence with a primary key. To return multiple values (for example, to display in a dropdown), you can create a ...

  • Re: Schema validation found non-data type errors with external list

Hello Sri, Probably has to do with the data type for the external picker not matching the data type in the form. From the error message it seems that the InfoPath control is trying to get a value from the external list but it isn't matching or isn't deserializable. What control are you using in the form for the Item ...

  • Re: Converting check box to dropdown

Hi AlexK and thanks for the interesting question. To be honest, I never knew that InfoPath did this. It seems a bit silly, but it's probably not totally harebrained. InfoPath just doesn't know whether you are using 0/1 or false/true so it provides both. Certainly, I would think you can delete the 0/1 and just use the false/true. But, ...

  • Re: Prevent "Do you want to submit" when closing a form with the X.

Hi Gelina44, I would just disable Submit Options and use a custom button with a "Submit" label and rules that do the work you want. That way, they won't see the default submit stuff. The custom button with rules is a more powerful approach too and you will lose no functionality. Good luck,

  • Re: Multiple results to save from a sharepoint list query by Infopath

Hi Debi, Isn't this the issue we chatted about on Thursday/Friday last week? If so, please post a reply here with the technique so others can see what we came up with. Here's a link to a sample that I did over a year ago that also describes two techniques, one of which we implemented: ...

  • Re: Printing Issue: grey background

Hi DustBin111, Are they using the default XPS export option to generate the PDF? If so, ask them to install the free Cute PDF printer and try using that. We have seen grey backgrounds for the out-of-box XPS PDF exporter but those issues go away when we use Cute PDF. Not sure that will be your silver bullet, but it's worth a try since ...

  • Re: Reset Repeating Section IP2010

Hi CraigN, I'm a bit confused. Are you saying that your SharePoint list form has a repeating section in the main data source? As far as I know list forms don't support repeating structures. Maybe you are referring to a secondary data source that has the repeating section. Changing the secondary data source won't edit the list, ...

  • Re: InfoPath form on Submit! Open as an Outlook email Message

Hi Yaseen, InfoPath forms (both filler and browser) can send views in email without any code. For the filler, just add a submit data connection for email and walk through the dialog. For the browser, you'll need to configure outgoing emails for your SharePoint site. To change the email body, etc. progammatically, you can write code. You ...
