Your form doesn't work in preview? What happens? Do you get an error message in the error node? I always test my forms in preview prior to publishing, and don't have problems with the command in preview.
-
That's odd. Is this happening in the browser? Or Filler? If you try in preview (with the list id field displayed so you can see it) does it get populated?

Try adding no redirect to the link:

Your form has custom code that will have disabled qRules. Is that intentional?
-
I struggle with this too. A lot of times for more complex conditions, after creating the condition, I change the first drop down to "The expression" - then InfoPath will display the actual XPath being used. From there, I copy all my different conditions out into a text editor so I can group them and add "and" and "or" ...
-
I wish moving from a test or dev enviro to a production enviro was easier in InfoPath.
I haven't worked with SQL endpoints in InfoPath much, but I do modify source files often for server changes. What did you change in the form where you tried this?

There is a link in the heading of the post?

Oh, happy to help - that one made me CRY, I swear. I was so glad when I finally found out that I was not actually crazy - that the validation actually works differently in browser vs. filler.
-
I actually was meaning in your list, not your form. Are any of your SharePoint List columns aside from the user a special type?
-
No - that formula should be right (I actually just referred to this post yesterday for mapping a people picker!).
Do you have other Lookup or Choice columns in your list? What about Date Time?
