You have to create a single node either in your Main DOM or a secondary DOM to store the value of the DDL. Then just populate from the repeating group.

In the Controls task pane, click drop-down box to place a new drop-down box on the view. Double-click this new drop-down and for Entries browse to the Master table. Click Ok until you are back onto the view. Click Preview.

Hi BonsaiGuy and welcome to the forum!
What you should do here is bind the conditional formatting to a boolean node in a secondary dom, and then have your button switch this node to the appropriate value to display the fields. This has been discussed several times on the forum, so please search around a little bit if you have any more questions.

Glad you could figure it out! Yes, you need the spaces because the dash is a valid symbol in the node name, so it thought that the name of you're node included the minus sign!

This is also a good reference:http://www.w3schools.com/xpath/default.asp
If you still can't figure it out, please paste the complete error message as well as the XPath that you are trying to debug.

Also, it is generally a good idea to use async = false and validateOnParse = false when creating a custom XML object like this. This might save you some headache later. Try this:
SampleDOM = (IXMLDOMDocument2)thisXDocument.CreateDOM();
SampleDOM.async = false;
SampleDOM.validateOnParse = false;
SampleDOM.load(''sampledata.xml'');

Sounds like an awesome workaround, I'm glad you figured it out!

Thanks for the screenshots these are incredibly helpful!
This is weird though, because I don't see anything wrong... Try the below XPath, and if that doesn't work you will want to try putting a rule on each of the drop-downs that updates the nodes accordingly each time a new value is selected in the drop-down.
count(../../..//@Ob1[. = ''C''])
+ ...

I think the easiest way to do this would be to make the value of the drop-down list the ID field.
Double-click the drop-down list on the view and notice at the bottom there are two fields Display Name and Value. Set the display name to whatever you want the user to browse through and set the Value to be the ID that you will insert into the query. ...
