Okay, another question -- when you say "output a view" -- I am a little confused by that. When you create an email submit connection in InfoPath 2007 (I'm afraid I don't remember how similar InfoPath 2003 is) you have 2 options: Send the active view of the form in the email or send the form as an attachment to the email. ...

Oh, sure. I mean the code above should read thus:
var Records = XDocument.DOM.selectNodes("/my:myFields/my:Itemisations/my:ItemisationsTable");
for (var i=0; i < Records.length; i++)
{
var blah = Records[i].selectSingleNode("my:AllocationDetails/my:PaymentMethod");
//note that the below I have used for debugging ...

Hi Hilary
Thanks for your reply. I still need further directions. What do you mean by so: "my:AllocationDetails/my:PaymentMethod"?

I am working with InfoPath 2007. We planned to store infoPath (.xsn) in source control (TFS).
I identifed a folder named "Forms" to store all forms. A subfolder named "code' to store project codes related with infoPath forms.
Inside this 'code' folder, I will create separate sub folders for each form with form ...

Thanks for your reply Hilary! So I am assuming this IS possible then? (you didn't say definitively that is was!)
I thought I had tried all the options you mentioned above, 1-3 I have tried to no effect.
Is 4-5 relevent and essential in 1-3 working?
My desired outcome is simple in that I want to output a View (created in ...

Hello, and welcome!
Not knowing what you have tried and not being entirely sure what your final desired outcome is, may I suggest the following:
Set your submit options to use rules
Set a rule to switch the form to the view you wish to email
Set a rule to sumbit the form using your email connection
Close the form after ...

Hi all, I have spent all afternoon reading posts on this subject and nothing seems to be written in Laymans terms, the answers seem to be assuming that everyones an expert user, either that or it appears that the answer is not there in the software itself, and it's posters own code 'work arounds' that pose the only solution.
It ...

For "blah" you are iterating through all the records nodes and then going back up to your main node to select the value -- which always returns the first value. The selectSingleNode for that variable should be from Records[i], so: "my:AllocationDetails/my:PaymentMethod"

I have found the solution on one of Greg Collins' posts http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/p/3218/12339.aspx#12339
The answer was to set the rule to firstly query the datasource then set the field as described in this post.
Thanks Greg and Hillary.

Hi Hillary,
Thanks for your post. It has got me half way there but im still having problems. In your scenario, I am trying to display the customer's phone number for reference, not to be submitted as a field in my form, but the number to display is still based on the customer name selected from a drop down box.
I have the dropdown box ...
