The only rules that "run" (execute) are the Actions. The Validation and the Formatting will be activated once/if the condition is satisfied.
Good luck!

You probably want to submit using buttons set to use Rules. That way, one button will submit to your "DataConnection#1" and the other submit button will submit to your "DataConnection#2". If you have a submit-type button and a default submit data connection, I imagine it's possible that your form tries to submit to that one ...

SharePoint 2010 allows query parameters, so you could set the query parameter for Type='yogurt', then execute the data connection, and the data fields that are returned will be prefiltered.
Can you try this?

Is the form saving or submitting? Is it a List of a Form Library?

Hi-
I'm sorry you've encounted issues with our DBXL documentation.
From the product page on Qdabra.com, we offer a list of available documents: http://www.qdabra.com/en/products/docs/DBXL26.aspx
We also offer installation instructions, a Getting Started guide and other documents from the default.htm page which comes up after ...

Is this SharePoint 2010 or 2007?

I would have the user log in to another machine and try. If the issue does not happen in that other machine, then it's a machine specific issue, such as a windows update, a browser issue, etc. It will at least help narrow down the problem.

Is the fundingID column in SQL defined as an autoincrement identity key? If so, then it should not be mapped in DBXL.Since your mapping includes the fundingID, then DBXL needs that value to not be blank.

Thanks for checking. The problem is that the key is blank, and SQL won't accept a blank value for the key.
Where is fundingID coming from? Is it a value calculated in the form, or does the user type it in?
It sounds like the mapping is set up correctly, but there is bad data in the forms, namely, the blank key. Just make sure that the key is ...
