I think you would want to use copy rich text to copy the SharePoint RT into your IP field. So, your command would use the /dsnamesrc param with the name of your SharePoint list connection, and the /xpathsrc would be the path to your SharePoint rich text field. I imagine that InfoPath is horking up the rich text when it copies it with your rule in ...

I just tried this, and CopyRichText worked for me. I circled my original SharePoint data in blue, and the field I copied to in pink. In your form, does your SharePoint data show up as rich text? Mine does....

What version of InfoPath / SharePoint?

I'm wondering if CopyRichText might do this - is the HTML in a secondary data source?

When you added the data connection to your XML file, the form probably asked if you wanted to include the XML as a resource for the form, or access it from its current location. Looking at your form, I can see you opted to import the XML. So, the form template itself now has a copy of that XML with its other files - on the data tab in the ribbon, ...

Is your form using a resource file that is part of the form templates in the secondary data connection? If so, did you update it with your fixed XML? Or is the XML external to the form?

I think you should give that a try - see what happens.
I do know if I map a rich text InfoPath field to a multiple line column in SharePoint, my line breaks are present.
-
I think this is because SharePoint rich text (like IP rich text) will have HTML <br/> for the line breaks - and that the white space characters you are using are getting stripped out... What does your mapping.xml file look like? Have you indicated that the Details field is rich text? I mean, I'm guessing it isn't in the form data ...

Can you save the XML created by your form (or, if it has been submitted to a form library) and attach it to a reply here? Under the Options tab? Then I can open in a text editor and see what the XML value is.

Hi - What is the actual value in the XML that you are submitting? You say you are populating the form field by setting the default value with the concat function?
