  • Re: Iterating through a Dropdownlist and comparing each item to a string value

This looping is done for you. If you have a secondary data source with the Sharepoint list. Add a rule to the email entry field. Make the condition emailentryfield = email in SP list.  Then have the action be whatever you want, message box or whatever. When InfoPath does the check it actually checks each value in the repeating nodes and if ...

  • Re: Refresh Secondary Data Connection via jscript

Check the developers reference on MSDN for the proper syntax. I believe it is query() just like in the UI.

  • Re: SQL Sever 2000 views do not appear

Best practice is to use windows security and just have a user group which has access and the users are members of. But yes you can add the generic SA account to your ODBC connection to the database.

  • Re: Retrieve current user name through webservice

Hello jrudolph, Sorry, but I don't understand what you're meaning - why should the submitter change, when the name of the current user is bound to a text box for display?

  • Re: SQL Sever 2000 views do not appear

Right you are. Maybe you can answer another question.  I was thinking of using SQL Server application security but when I try to send the command to start using the application role I get a security error.  It won't let me send commands to SQL Server - except the InfoPath connections that are used. My other idea was to set up a ...

  • Re: Liter to gallons control in data entry / modification

You would need to create the conversion in rules or in code. You should be able to have an expression box that shows it with the conversion. For entry you may need to have two boxes to take the input and then convert it and store it in liters.

  • Re: Change "FROM" field on email data connection?

I believe you could get this accomplished by an outlook rule. If you are using the IP client, the local outlook is being used.  Therefore setup each helpdesk person to be able to send from the shared address, which might already be done.  then use a rule to key in on something unique to these response emails and have it set the from ...
