I didn't change your other rules, just wanted the command to execute successfully - from what you are saying, you didn't get results returned either time you executed the rule. You'd sent Ernesto an XLS with data from your list. I don't see either of the values in your list that you sent. Can you verify those external facilties are ...

You are missing postback settings, I'd guess. Right click your submit button, and under the Browser tab, set Postback to Always - we need the button to send data to the server (from InfoPath Forms Services) so that the qRules commands will execute.

Perfect. So that helps with troubleshooting - we know that the rule is not returning values in the 2DS - that is why they aren't getting set. I've made another change. Try again, first with the one that works, then with a selection that doesn't. You don't have to try them all, just need one success and one failure. There are two ...

Oh, interesting. CopyTable won't be the way to go here, that's for sure. What does the data returned from SharePoint for the merged fields look like? Are the items separated by semicolons? Off hand, I'm thinking you might be able to leverage a few other commands to do this along with some standard rules... for example, you could use ...

Hi - Thanks for posting the reply from MS.
qRules has a command that can write attachments from the form to a different library - even repeating attachments - and it will write a link to the attachment back to the form so form users can find / open the attachment. You can find a free trial here.

Hi, Chris:
Can you preview the attached template and try the same steps you have been trying (select the first item in the dropdown, then change to a different item) and scroll to the bottom of the form, where I've placed a repeating table bound to the 2ds, and see if any values are returned in the fields that you are using to set the main ...

Hi there - I'm glad the tutorial was helpful!
You can publish your form to a form library. In order for it to be browser form, you either:
1. Need to be a site collection admin - then you can Sandbox the form and publish directly to a library if the Sandbox is enabled on your SharePoint server, OR
2. Need to admin approve the form - publish ...

The sample form demonstrates a lot of the commands - but doesn't display what I consider to be the real power of qRules. The real magic happens when you start combining the commands together.
I think of the commands as building blocks - each little one may not seem to do much, but you can combine them to pretty much do away with custom code ...

This is true for qRules in general - when we set the value of the command field, the data has to post back to the server in order for the code to execute.
Postback in browser forms does cause a delay.
I try to group my logic when possible (i.e. perhaps instead of caclucating a date diff when a field value changes, it could be done right before ...

Hi - you'll need to set postback on the control bound to the field that executes the command to "Always". Right click the control and select the properties. Under the browser tab, change postback to always.
