Thank you for your quick response. If I perform the steps you selected, anytime I open up the form to view (after submitting) the value ties back to the default value rather than keeping the value that was selected. This was the primary reason I went away from setting the default value.

I think you may be running into trouble with the xsi:nil attribute -- When you set the value of your date time field, you'll need to remove that attribute. I was wondering if there is a way to backup the database mappings? I have DBXL installed on my laptop that I was using for testing it out and we are now going to roll this out to a permanent workstation. I'd rather not have to recreate the 300+ database mappings ;-)
