• Re: Using the button control to launch a web page

Hi, Shiva! Thanks so much for your help and patience. I should clarify that we're using InfoPath 2003. So, I plugged in the code as follows in Microsoft Script Editor for this button control in the InfoPath form... function CTRL84_8::OnClick(eventObj) { //Write your code here ...

  • Re: Totals based on drop down selection

So, when you tried this: sum(/my:expenseReport/my:items/my:item/my:cost[../my:category = "A"]) div my:expenseReport/my:otherField You had an error? As an aside, I have no idea why the error before suggested you needed a comma...

  • Problem re-submitting a form in SharePoint

I have an InfoPath form with multiple views that I open inside a SharePoint library. The default view has a Submit button, and when clicked, it runs the following code: ' Some code to set values Me.DataConnections(connectionName).Execute(). Application.Quit(True) This works fine the first time. I'm ...

  • Re: Totals based on drop down selection

Perfect! Thank you so much! Quick question about the sytax though-why was it expecting a comma when you needed to place a close parenthesis? *EDIT Say I wanted to divide the output from the code above by another field to get a percentage, how would I go about that? I tried the div operator, but it told me I needed a number. ...

  • Re: Totals based on drop down selection

That would be because my syntax was wrong -- I forgot the closing parenthesis! sum(/my:expenseReport/my:items/my:item/my:cost[../my:category = "A"])

  • Re: Totals based on drop down selection

Thanks! That one just looks like it'd work better than the other solutions. However, I get this error back: Expected value type: , Actual value: end-of-string sum(/my:expenseReport/my:items/my:item/my:cost[../my:category = "86810"]<--

  • All I need is the form's current location

I'm looking for a way to capture the form (not the template) current location. I've looked at a bunch of options; currently coding in vbscript but can change to jscript if needed. wscript doesn't work.. ActiveX FileSystemObject works when I'm designing the template and switch to preview, but not when I open up a new ...

  • Re: Hiding Controls

From what you are saying, it appears that the InfoPath documentation is wrong. Thanks for taking the time to reply. I will look at using sections to hide my check boxes. Andy

  • Re: Totals based on drop down selection

No, you don't need to create unique fields for each option. Think of the category field as a container. It is going to hold whatever your user selects from the drop down. The item they select will go into the category 'container' and stay there.... unless they change their mind and select a different option. Does that make sense? Per ...
