qRules should be submitting to the lists in order of the mappings in the mapping file. Looking at your mapping, I'd expect it to be submitting to SOURCING then to SOURCING SUPPLIERS. After the submit to SOURCING, the ShP ID should be populated, which would then be used for the Item Number in the SOURCING SUPPLIERS. If there were an error on ...

I wonder if you could use a connection to a SharePoint list and use BDC to populate the list? Then you'd have query fields (at least if you are using InfoPath 2010)
Our web service also makes it very easy to query for specific data - free trial here if you are interested.

Easiest would be to use qRules - it has this ability and much more - you won't have to write code or deal with CAML. We'll have another free trial of 4.3 up soon that you can try, or email me via the forum if you'd like a trial copy sooner and I can get you one.

InfoPath doesn't support this out of the box. You can write custom code for this or use a third party tool (like DBXL web services or qRules).

Thanks, Jim - that's what I was wondering as I was thinking about this earlier - I'll mention that to the MS resource we've been emailing with.

Hey, Jerry, thanks for the update - I've been emailing with the same MS resource you've been working with - we are trying to determine why a form with the qRules DLL injected takes longer to convert in IPFS than his form with custom code - the initial thought we had was the size of the code DLL (the qRules DLL is much larger than the one ...

I'd think this would be possible. See the attached sample - uses a 2ds in the form, but should have the general idea. The thing that gets sticky is if an item in the first multi-select is deselected, the items in the other ones that were dependent aren't - so you'll want to see if that is something you can live with. If not - this ...

Hi - why is your form full trust?
At any rate, I'm wondering if your field's data type is really date time in the form, or just date - I'd start there....

What solved the issue with the dropdown? I'll ask Ernesto to chime in with any thoughts on what may have gone wrong w/ your child terms in the browser.

I am using two text boxes bound to the same field to simply demonstrate the principle - which is that if you have some condition wherein you will be hiding a field, you could use the reverse condition in your validation rule, so that your validation rule will only fire when the field, whatever it may be bound to, is displayed on the form.
