Hadn't realized this was a SharePoint List form - not sure, but if you right click the repeating node under datafields, can you include additional instances?
-
Then, as I said above, you'll either need to write some custom code to copy the InnerXml of the node in your 2ds to your main ds, or you could use qRules, which has a command for copying rich text in InfoPath.
-
If you need to include a specific number of instances of a repeating group or field, you can do that - under the Data tab in the ribbon, find the Default Values and from there you can specify how many instances you want to include by default. - I'm having kind of a hard time understanding your question, so let me know if that is not what you ...

Can you tell me if you need to copy the Rich Text into the main data source? If not, you should be able to just display it from your secondary data source connection.

If your form template has the same ID, you are correct that your users will be prompted to replace it in their cache - but you can change it. If you are using InfoPath 2010, on the File backstage, Info category, to the far right you'll find a button "Form Template Properties" - you can click that and change the template name ...

That's why I was asking if just displaying the rich text would be adequate for your needs - otherwise you'll need code or qRules to copy the rich text from your SharePoint data source into your InfoPath form data source.
As to the second part of your question, if you search for cascading dropdown on this forum or in a search engine online ...

Ah - the issue here is that the form needs to be based off the database to begin with. When you create a new form, one option is "Database" - from there you select your DB. When you walk through the wizard, pay close attention to the last dialog - you'll need to check a box to enable submit, and if there is something about your DB ...

I'd think it means whether something has unsaved changes - is this a SharePoint SQL table?
-
Yeah - it is being stubborn about previewing.
What I usually do is put my cursor to the left of the expression box and backspace to ensure that there is no carriage return between the controls. I also usually set row height to auto for the row - generally that prevents these issues.

Feel free to attach your form under the Options tab if you'd like me to take a look.
