Thanks everyone for the huge response to my plea for help. I got it sorted via .Net and SQL.

I was fooling around with that a bit but I wasn't able to get it to work. Is it possible to use the 'expression' option when setting the condition for the rule? I was making afeeble attempt at that earlier but no dice. Here is one of my ...

I see, I see. Well, I can't think of a way to do this with a rule. You know, the Action to 'Set a field's value' -- what we really want is be able to put an XPath in there to select only the nodes where the Include in view field is equal to 'yes'....and we can't, now can we! That's why all of your fields get set ...

Thanks chandrakanth! Your workaround solution solved this issue. The only resulting issue is that now any Message Body text that we have designed as part of the email Introduction is not populating into the message body for Office 2007 users, but this is not a huge issue for my users. They are much happier that they no longer ...

Hello Everyone. Its me again.
I have a repeating section with a date field that I need to populate with today's date when a button is clicked. The repeating section first appears in view "b" where everything is filled out with the exception of a few fields including the date field in question. I switch to view ...

Thanks. I had tried that one as well (and can get to work) however that assumes text fields only. I am trying to submit a mix of text fields, radio buttons and check boxes.
Again, I must say, I am amazed at how hard MS have made linking InfoPath to SharePoint for anything beyond submitting to a document library.
