I can only guess at what the person means, but I would suppose they are referring to having the form template determine forms' numbers as opposed to a web service or SQL server.

When someone says "at the form level", where/what are they specifying?  The person is talking about adding code to the form to create an autonumber.

 It means your fom contains some error. such as rule or even custom code.  You want to debug it.  If you click detail, it may give you some idea where or what cause the error. You may want to create a display field and display error on the form.

Hi, I am using Infopath 2003 with web service. When I open my infopath form it calls web service. How do I check whether web service is up and running before actually calling the service? Thanks in Advance, Ravi
