• Re: InfoPath 2010 questions? Ask here.

The Type icon unfortunately doesn't work in 2010 at all - it's not related to your migration. I also heavily utilize this icon for having my users access forms, but I discovered in early Beta that they didn't work. I submitted it as a bug to the InfoPath team who sent it to the SharePoint team, but they deemed it too ...

  • Re: Modify User in Collect Data from User Workflow

How about instead of worrying about updating Task Group, which is set dynamically by the Collect Data action, maybe just set your email to send to the Assigned To field of the relevant task? Is there a reason you can't do that...am I missing a key element? I would use the "workflow lookup" option in setting the recipient, ...

Baldcat, I don't know why exactly, but it's only the list forms that open in modal dialog. Even in a doc lib, there is a setting for opening forms in dialog, but it's only referring to the propeties from. You can open the properties of your InfoPath form in dialog but not the document itself. On lists, the forms are ...

Tugce, I do not write any code, so I'm not really sure how to make a Print button, since that requires Full Trust code. However, to access the code builder for a button, you can click on your button in design mode, switch to the Properties tab in the ribbon, and click the Custom Code action. This will invoke Visual Studio and allow ...

  • Re: Browser enabled form

It can't even be published as a browser form unless it only has browser form capabilities. There are very few restrictions on browser forms in 2010, so I doubt it's a case of having incompatible features. Even if it were the case, he wouldn't have been able to publish the form to begin with. It would have given design ...

  • Re: Workflow email going out twice, but one email does not contain the form values...

Lenovo, you found the SharePoint forums on MSDN to be dead? Those forums are extremely active and heavily monitored by both MSFT employees and MVPs + community contributors. At the same time, InfoPathDev is the premier place for InfoPath answers, but not so much for SharePoint Designer questions. I recommend using the MSDN ...

  • Re: Form library form to SQL database - options?

    1) To use BCS with your form library, you'd create external lists for each table and/or view that you need to use, and then you'd consume these external lists as data connections for read purposes. Then, for write purposes, you'd submit the form to the form library like usual, then fire off an SPD2010 workflow that updates the ...

Do you mean submit to email? Publishing is when you publish the form template to SharePoint after making changes. Submitting is when you have an XML form open that is based on the template, and you are submitting it to the specified location (email, form library, etc.). Is there a reason you need to do it with code instead of ...

  • Re: Text box to fill a drop down box and then fill the from

How have you configured the dropdown? It should be set to retrieve from an external data source unless your SQL connection is your main data source. After choosing the proper source, you should select the repeating group of that data source in the Source field, and then choose the value and display name fields as needed. If the ...

  • Re: GetCommonManager

Hey, Clay, nice name. Have you verified that the test user has a manager assigned in the User Profile Database? There are a few ways to check: 1) Using the GetUserProfileByName method, display the Manager value and see what's there. You probably will see nothing. 2) Go to your SSP Admin > User Profiles and Properties ...
