How do I do as you suggest? (It sounds even better!)

I'm not sure what is happening there, but do you really want to email the form to the library? Why not create a data connection that submits the form to the library like normal, and then reference that data connection in your submit? It's a very simple thing that should be very easy with no hassle. Let me know if you need ...

I'm not sure you can rely on ID, because the ID is not assigned until AFTER you first submit it to the library. However, you can't worry about duplication, because the ID field of every SharePoint list is a unique identifier. The numbers are sequential and are never duplicated.
Yes, you can concatenate any field with anything ...

Hello,
I am trying to limit the number of rows allowed based on a condition. I have tried to do it with the rules, however when I do count(), I always seem to get 1 as a result no matter how many rows I have.
Thanks a lot,
Thank you

I'm not using a repeating table, I have a secondary data connection that pulls in list items from a list in SharePoint. This connection populates a drop down control. There's about 2,000 records in the list, and when I render the form via the browser, the sort that is based off of the view does not work through InfoPath form services. ...

Alec,
Sebastian was able to find this article http://blogs.msdn.com/infopath/archive/2006/04/05/569338.aspx that accomplishes the same goal with much, MUCH less work and complication. Using the eval function seems to be a better way to go, because the eval function is built to do everything you did with your custom steps. What ...

I created an InfoPath 2007 browser enabled form. The form consists of 20 rows
and two columns. Each row is numbered. I reset each number row to a specific
increment and then published the form. When you view my form in InfoPath each
row is numbered correctly 1 - 20. However, when I publish the form and view
in the browser, each row starts ...

I created a browser enabled InfoPath 2007 form. The submit options are set to
email the form to my work email address and to a form library that has email
submission enabled. When I fill in the form, I get the form contents in my
email mailbox. But the form is not being emailed to the form library. I tried
directly emailing the form ...

I have set up a form where I am using the @ID for the sequential form number BUT I am concerned about duplication. Is there a way to concat filename with @id .. please provide the actual formula to put in the Expression Box?

While troubleshooting Alec's solution, we stumbled across another method (i.e. using EVAL instead of CONCAT), check it out:

Check it out...it is another (simpler) method for those looking to enable this type of functionality via browser-based forms.
