If you're using a client form, you can use validation to show a dialog box message as soon as the validation error happens.
If you're using a browser form, there are no dialog boxes possible for validation. You could add a node called "ErrorMessage" and display that (read-only) on the canvas. Depending on the validation issue ...

Hi-
It sounds like a checkbox is the incorrect control, perhaps? What about using an Option button? With an Option button, you can give the user 4 options and they choose one.
With a checkbox, each one is independent from the others, each one being true or false.
You could use rules to uncheck other checkboxes if one checkbox is checked. Then ...

Yes, this is possible. You'll need two submit buttons, each with its own data connection to send email.
You would need a boolean field to toggle, and force the form (or the user) to choose between IT or payroll. Once that selection has been made you can use conditional formatting to hide the section that does not apply.
Hope this helps!

Hi-
In order to sent an email you'll need a data connection that does so, as well as a destination email. I don't think the contact selector brings in the email address into the form. YOu might want to check by dragging the entire contact selector node into the canvas and displating it in a raw fashion (that is, display the data as ...

After republishing, do the new promoted properties show up as columns? If so, are they blank or do they show data?
Also, try playing around with the SharePoint view. You might be able to hide the old promoted properties and show the new ones.

Sorry, I don't think I have understood the scenario.
When will the user be emailed? When the form is published to the form library? When a button is clicked in the form (perhaps to submit the form)?
Let us know. Thanks.

Yes, this is possible. When using the mapping tool to map your form fields to the SharePoint list, you can use relative paths to point to fields outside of the repeating node. So, for example, let's say the my:subcontractor node is at the root:
my:myFields/my:subcontrator
And you have a repeating group ...

InfoPath list forms have a locked schema (which means the schema is locked to the list and you cannot modify the schema), plus list forms cannot handle repeating data. Those are likely the reasons why you cannot add a repeating table.

Can you check the form type? Is it a SQL bound form? A SharePoint list form?
The type of form matters; certain controls are not available for certain form types, and sometimes the form schema is locked as well.
Knowing more about your form will help. If you can, you can attach the form itself or screenshots via the Options tab when replying. ...
