aptrick,
If there are datavalidations on a field, and the form is blank and has not changed it will just show a * mark. untill the "Changed" event gets fired the data validations wont work.

Hi apatrick,
basically rules are fired when there is change in the value of the field same with data validations. if you set the "cannot be blank". it will give a * mark at the end of the field that indicates that its value is not correct. If the control is passed to this field and passed to someother field validations/rules wont fire.

hi jorobertson,
well you can use the relink option provided in sharepoint to link the forms. basically you will have to publish the template to some doc library in sharepoint 2007, then transfer the forms onto this library (you can use actions -> open in explorer and paste the forms there). then go to settings -> form libraray ...

Hi,
we do have file attachment control in browser enabled forms, and we can have them in repeating sections also as Hilary said.
PS: Kellys, what i think u have done, u first dragged the file attachment control onto your form, then the repeating section, then dragged the attachment control from your form onto the repeating section.

hi krishna,
you will need a data connection to populate the current user name and based on that change the views.
-
you can use managed code to give access to the document libarary or even to an item in document library.
-
formula sum(field3[field2 = current()/../field5 and field1 = current()/../field4])
field 1 = date of first table
field2 = expense type of first table
field3 = cost of first table
field4 = date of second table
field5 = expense type of second table
field6 = cost of second table

Krishna, I thought you would have set the rules on opening of the form to do so.
well to set the rule on the opening of the form go to tools-> form options -> open and save-> rules
add a rule there to switch your view based on the value in the textbox

what actions do you take on form submission, what is the form name given to the submitted form. I guess they might have overwritten some old form.

Hi TiltnSpill,
As far as i know, infopath does not provide any such functionality to save the form on a button click. you can give users a toolbar on which you can give save functionality. to do so goto tools->form options and check the save checkbox. now save will be listed on the tool bar at the top of the form.
