• Re: which form security settings?

If you're using email to send the forms around, you have to use Restricted. If not, the best practice is Domain. Doing Full Trust is only necessary for forms that write to the file system or connect with external web sites. You do not need this to sign a form. However, you will need a digital certificate to sign a form template to allow it ...

  • Re: Reduce Form File Size?

Hi Jen, If the views are long, you may be stuck with it. The data connections are not included in hte XSLs so those won't contribute to the size. You might be able to reduce the number of views by using one with conditional sections that hide-show. We'd be happy to look at this in more depth if you want to do a support pack or purchase ...

Yes, it's under the qRules Insert command. :) http://www.infopathdev.com/files/folders/qrules/entry58854.aspx

  • Re: Setting a fields value but still being able to change it after

Hi Camilla, You should use a rule on the field with a condition so that it only runs once. The rule sets the values based on a filter. InfoPath doesn't support this from the set action, but you can manually modify the manifest.xsf or use qRules to set rows 2-10. We've taped webinars on these techniques and have samples. I'd be more ...

  • Re: what is the best way to autonum a form?

The problem with Sudlev's approach is that it requires property demotion to get the ID back into the form. And, that's not on by default nor is it a best practice. I would rather suggest that you just do a double submit from the form using a rule that has an action to submit, another action to query and set the value, and a final ...

  • Re: Problems with Infopath Sharepoint to List Tool

Hi guys, Yes, it's a security issue with the form. The tool needs to be installed as "admin". Otherwise, it won't be truly full trust. Keep in mind that the task pane is just there to help you figure out the names of the lists, columns and XML, but you can do this manually if you are having security issues. If you've ...

  • Re: Issues with opening InfoPath 2010 Form

easiest way is to ask the employees to add the site to their local intranet security group. in internet explorer under the tools tab there's a security option. click on local intranet and select advanced and have them add the site. then they won't get this error.

  • Re: Sorting a repeating table

No programming is needed for this, but you do need to either a) modify the view.xsl, or b) use our qRules add-on that has a command for sorting. The first approach (modifying the xsl to include an xsl:sort operator) requires exporting the XSN as source files and then opening up view.xsl (or whichever view you have the control in). Search for the ...

  • Re: One InfoPath form sharing data in two different site collections. Is this possible?

Yeah, that's a good approach. You can also use an Input Parameter. You could also use instances for each of the four people and have a separate "dashboard" form that pulls all the pieces together into one view.

  • Re: Problems with Decimal Mark (Region Issues) Infopath 2007

Hi Codere, What locale is your SharePoint server running under? My guess is that it's different. Anyway, you may be able to force the formatting by right clicking on the field and selecting Format and the correct locale. Best of luck!
