I have over 100 different InfoPath forms that all query various tables on a SQL server. In two weeks as part of a server upgrade, those SQL tables are getting moved to a new server that will have a different name.  The database and table names will remain the same. Hi, and welcome -- Is your form based off your database? That is, when you created it, did you select 'Database' under Based on in the Design a new window? If so, your data source will show query fields and data fields. You can pull over the query fields for first and last name, and then add a button that has for a rule 'Query using ...

Hi, I think you have added Rule to that field. But you need to add open rule to that form. go to below path and add rule.  Tools-->Formsoptions-->Open and save tab -->Rules  For more idea verify attached xsn.

I have found out what is causing this. The DNSName field in databse is varchar type and it doesn't allows null values. That's ok. The thing is when I try to submit from InfoPath empytf field DNSNAme, it is passed as ' ' (without space) and it is not interpret as null value.
