You'll need Visual Studio 2012 for IP 2013 managed code development: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/aa947697.aspx - look for the New Way to Write and Edit Code section

Thanks for setting up a fresh try. I'll set up a test list to match yours and try this exact template so we can see if it is the template, the server, something else. It may be late tomorrow before I have a chance to do this. As I stated further up the thread - with a qRules 4.3 test form I created, deleting from the form also deleted ...

There are some sample templates in this thread - try saving one of them locally (right click - save as) and then from the local copy, right click and select design to open - see if that helps. If not, let me know & I'll review the thread (it has been a while & it is not fresh in my mind...)

Okay - looks like your qRules install is fine- this form has a DLL that is 4.3 and the XML for the data connection is also 4.3
You asked about how you are adding code - if you right click a field in the data source, one of the options is "programming" that allows you to add events. The developer tab in the ribbon allows you to add ...

Wonderful, glad to hear it!

What are you trying to do there? Are you setting a rule to set Course Name? I just meant to use it as a filter for the selected row for the drop downs - should already be in place in the sample I attached to my reply? You are getting true or false because that is what the XPath you have pasted above evaluates to - either they are equal or ...

So - your Course dropdown uses CourseName for the value. Your rule for setting course duration is depending on @Name instead.
You want:
xdXDocument:GetDOM("Courses")/COURSES/COURSECODE/DURATION[../COURSENAME = current()]
For the filter on Course Group, the expression looks like:
../COURSEGROUPNAME = ...

Usually, yes. I'd have a list with Company and Application in SharePoint, for example - then add that as a secondary data source and use that info to populate Application based on Company.

No - the forms should still be in the Forms folder - default path is here:
C:\Program Files\Qdabra Software\Qdabra Rules Library (Trial Version)\Forms
The trial is a full version, just expires.
