InfoPath Dev

Thanks for the reply. I am using 2003 and yes, the user has access to the shared drive.

If you are switching views as part of your submit, there is a known bug in a timing issue within IP. Change the view change to a form rule.

I have many forms and the one key that everyone forgets is your SQL table must have a Primary Key to be able to submit data.

All is well! On a few of the forms I had to reopen the data connection and re-test the SQL connection which seemed to regenerate the schema. But here it is almost 10:00 pm on a Friday night and almost 100 forms have been updated. Thanks for your help.

Hmmm. I'm not sure if there is a formulaic way to pad a number with zero in InfoPath. Is this formula in a default value? Or a rule? In a rule, you could set conditions, like if max(@ID) + 1 is less than 10 use the formula concat("LR-DP- 000", max(@ID) + 1) and if max(@ID) + 1 is greater than 9 but less than 100 use the formula ...

Hi, and welcome. Are you using InfoPath 2003 or 2007? Your VPN user has access to the shared drive, correct?

I have read through the forums and saw several threads that talked about this topic. In reading them, I came quickly to the conclusion that I haven't learned as much as I thought. I have picked up on form designing and even database connections, but I've hit a problem that probably requires inserting some code, and I'm a serious fish ...

I am a bit new to InfoPath and was seeking some guidance. I would like to know if it is possible to create a template form and have the form dynamically populate according to a SQL database (question, control, and options). I appreciate the feedback!!

Just wanted to say for anyone else who may stumble upon this -- I had the same issue, and Hilary's suggestion fixed it.  Thank you!
