Do you have SharePoint with InfoPath Forms Services? If so, you can publish a qRules form as a browser form - we are currently having a hard time with qRules + Browser + Office365, but if you have on premises SharePoint with IPFS, you shouldn't have any issues with your form as a browser form.
-
You probably could have done this with rules - one option is matches pattern / doesn't match patter and you can a regex to see if the field matches a certain pattern as a condition for rules.
-
You can find code samples on MSDN - try this link.

My apologies that my blog post for 4.2 has caused you confusion with qRules 4.3 and the changes in the install process. I'll update my blog post with a note.

I'm sorry, I'm confused by your question. If you are going to use the UpdateListItems method of the Lists web service - you have to submit CAML. You can create the CAML in code. If this is a browser form, you could use the SharePoint object model.

Jerry - thanks so much for this link - this is great info, thank you!

To do date math in InfoPath, use the addDays() function. More here.

Hi - make sure all instances of InfoPath are closed - sometimes this requires killing the process under the task manager (or a restart) - often if I've tried to install a form while IP is open, I get a hung process.
-
Under the Data tab in the Ribbon in IP 2010, one option for rules is Form Load. Those are rules that run when the template opens.

I must be misunderstanding, because the formula I suggested returns 8 chars (or less) in the sample I've attached.
