Hi Connie,
You could make it a date type only instead of a date-time type, but that will only get you 2009-04-16. To format the display value, you'll probably have to use some code, that formats it. There might be a function that does this since the datepicker can format it like that.

We created a date type column "Start date" in a SharePoint custom list. Then, we retrieved the "Start Date" to a InfoPath Dropdown list box (Date Type). The date was displayed in the dropdown listbox as "2009-04-16 00:00:00". Is there any way to format the display value as "04/16/2009"?

Thank you - I haven't seen the translate() function before - I'll be able to use that on other issues - Thanks again

I encounter this warning regularly. Do you have data connections in your form?

It sounds like an issue in the SharePoint server itself, and not in your InfoPath form design. The best option is to consult with your network admin.

You can do this by placing a rule on the field:
Set a field's value (select the field itself)
Formula: translate(., "abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz", "ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ")
