Hi Jim Shorts, Well, you certainly don't need code for this. Date fields have an xsi:nil attribute that needs to be set correctly (or removed). That's probably why you're having trouble. When I drag and drop an XML file from my inbox into an InfoPath form folder, it does parse the values out correctly. You should check to make sure that the form referenced in the XML is the same as the one associated to the folder.

You should be able to encode a pipe symbol. We have done that before. Maybe your form isn't encoding it correctly. Can you send more details?
