• Manually modify manifest.xsf to Filter the Target of a Rule

Let's say you have a field in a repeating group that you'd like to set to the value of another field in your form. Pretty straight-forward, right? Set a rule on the field with the desired value, and when you change that value, all the instances of the repeating field get set to that value. What? That wasn't your desired result? You ...

  • Re: Contact selector

That is likely caused by a syntax error in the setup - even a lower-case letter in the wrong spot. When I first used this, I had the same error, and it was due to one upper case letter in the wrong spot.

  • Re: Update an existing survey in SharePoint

You have to add conditions to the submit button that check to see if the file has already been submitted. You do this by adding a "submitted" field to your form that is hidden and is a regular text field. Add an action to your submit button that sets this field to your pre-formatted, concatenated filename. Also, add a ...

  • Re: Close survey and hyperlink back to SharePoint site

In your submit button, you can add the "Close" action. That closes the form and returns the user to whatever URL you see in the Source attribute of the Forms Services URL (look at the address bar when the form is open in the browser). This attribute defaults to the View of the Forms Library that the user was in when clicking ...

  • Re: cascading dropdown lists don't show output correctly

You are using Frederik's code, is that correct? I think that one problem you are having is that you probably have a more complex data structure than his sample does. From the looks of the SQL statement to get your Region information, I'd think you'd need to modify the following lines: Instead of: string repeatingNode = ...

  • Update an existing survey in SharePoint

When I try to revise a completed survey and use the submit (rules and custom code button) which submits the survey to SharePoint and sends emails, nothing happens. New surveys work just fine, it's only when you try to revise one. Do I need to setup something different when someone tries to revise a survey? After more testing, I ...
