I am confused! :)
Is the data you need in another instance of the form (another XML created by the same template) or is it actually in the currently open file?
At any rate, I've done a little REST - but I don't know that we can create a REST connection to an XML file - Lists, Libraries - but all we'd see from the library is ...
-
Yeah - you may be able to do this somehow in the form files - I'd probably just stick an expression box (calc'd value) over it with some help text and hide it if the drop down isn't blank...
-
Is your form being used in a SharePoint 2013 site? You may want to write some debugging info to form fields in your code (since we can't just pop up a dialog from IPFS). Apparently, there are ways to attach to the process and run in debug from IPFS, but I've yet to manage to get that to work.

I'm not quite sure what you are saying - maybe attach a screenshot under the Options tab to clarify? If this is a browser form, they aren't always as tolerant of manual form file mods that Filler may accept.

So, I just tried this - IP 2013, ShP 2010, IE 2010. I set my view in a library to datasheet view and opened a new form (from the ribbon new document option) and it just opened, no extra window, no warning, etc. My ShP site is in my local intranet. Sorry - I know this isn't too helpful, but just wanted to try it and see what happened.
-
I'm sorry no one seems to be able to provide input on this - good detective work on tracking it down so far. Does it matter if the data sheet view is the default? Or just happens no matter what if the library is in datasheet view?
-
I'm sorry - my syntax was bad - I'd been writing concat statements instead of C#:
XPathNodeIterator Cart = DataSources["Shopping Cart"].CreateNavigator().Select("/dfs:myFields/dfs:dataFields/d:SharePointListItem_RW[d:Editor/pc:Person/pc:AccountId = '" + CartUser.Value + "']", ...
-
Did you set the rule on the same field you are setting to blank? You'll want to set the rule on some other field, or add a condition that the field is not equal to blank to prevent the loop.
-
For the rule, set the field's value and just don't fill anything in for the third box.
-
I think instead of this:
XPathNodeIterator Cart = DataSources["Shopping Cart"].CreateNavigator().Select("//dfs:myFields/dfs:dataFields/d:SharePointListItem_RW[d:Editor/pc:Person/pc:AccountId = ...
