You generally will want to bind to the fields in the data fields. If the control on the form is not in a repeating container (section, table) and the data fields group is repeating (likely, if the form is a list or DB form), you will get that warning. You may find it easier to drag the fields onto the form (from the data fields group) to start ...

Hi, Jan:
I spoke to our test lead about your questions.
For the first one - this is something we've not tested or documented. Since the command takes a data source name, it seems likely to work - you may simply want to give it a try.
As to the second question, he referred me to page 20 of this document: ...

Query fields are used to filter the data returned to the form - prior to returning it. So - you have a data connection to a SharePoint list of Customers, for example. You can set the Query field of "CustomerPhone" to 123-465-7890 and then run a rule to execute the query - that will return all list records where the CustomerPhone ...

Is this published to an Office 365 site? If not, talk to your SharePoint Admin so they can look at the logs.

In the submit options, there is the option to open a new form - see screen shot.

In your published form, if you promote the field that has the "first approver" info in it, you'd then have that account id in your library when the form is submitted - you should be able to access that value in your custom workflow.

Let's start with the second question. :)
Query fields are fields you can set to indicate the data you want returned - it is like saying "I want all rows where customer name is Bob". You set query fields prior to executing a query.
So - you would never use query when choosing fields for filtering. Only the data fields.

I'm sorry, I don't understand the question - you need a secondary data source connection that shows all the lists and libraries? If so, you might want to try the Lists web service in SharePoint - http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/lists.lists.getlistcollection(v=office.12).aspx. I just tried a data connection to ...
