We've implemented it so that the DDL is in a repeating section. For the user to select another item he adds another section then selects from the list. However once a few repeating sections have been added the thing slows down enormously, presumably because ... Posted to General (Forum) by Graeme on 07-06-2009 Re: Some questions about the web service template Thanks for that - one more: Why is the Run Query button different from the "normal" button? The former has a built-in action called Run Query (and only seems available when using the webservice template), while with the latter I need to set a rule to call that action. Seems strange having the 2 different button ... Posted to Web Services (Forum) by Graeme on 06-24-2009 Some questions about the web service template I'm trying to understand what the web service template is doing behind the scenes - any answers appreciated: Is the option "Receive and submit data" simply a shortcut for first creating a receive data connection then creating a submit connection? Why can't I start from a blank form and acheive the same ... Posted to Web Services (Forum) by Graeme on 06-23-2009 Re: To save file on file share or in database.. Posted to General (Forum) by Graeme on 03-09-2009 To save file on file share or in database.. I currently save the Infopath xml via a web service to an XML column in SQL Server and also save to a file share so that a link to the file can be sent to someone for approval. Presumably I could avoid saving to a file share and just return the xml from SQL Server directly - I just am unsure of the best way to do that. Would I send a link to ... Posted to General (Forum) by Graeme on 03-06-2009 Dropdown list issues I am trying to filter a ddl and set the default value based on a value in the form at loading. The values in the ddl come from an xml file. I've got the filtering working except that there is always an extra empty item in the list. On first starting there is even the number 2 in the list for some reason - this disappears once ... Posted to General (Forum) by Graeme on 03-03-2009 Best stategy for submitting to web service I have inherited a form where the submit is handled in code, with various parameters being sent as either "text and child elements only" and some as "XML subtree". The web method then calls a stored proc that saves the various bits to a database. It seems to me that it would be better to pass the entire form to the ... Posted to General (Forum) by Graeme on 02-03-2009 "The version of the XML template file does not match the version of the form." When I try to open my manifest file in the VS 2008 designer, VS crashes. I try to open the xsf file in Infopath directly and I get the above error. I've tried clearing all cached files, but no difference. If there is no form cached on my PC, what version of what template doesn't match what form? How can I fix this?
