I'm a little confused, but it sounds like you want to add data to a SharePoint list from your InfoPath form? Is that correct? Unfortunately, InfoPath does not make this easy. You can write custom code for this, or you can use qRules, but it won't do it out of the box.

Here's your form - save it locally, right click and select design to open in design mode.

I'm attaching some screenshots and will add another reply with your template with another action added to your rule on course ID.
This is what the XPath for the filter looks like - User from the secondary data source is equal to user from the primary data source:
../d:User = xdXDocument:get-DOM()/my:myFields/my:User
I'm not 100% ...

Mind attaching your template under the Options tab in a reply?

If you use System.Xml.XmlWriter instead of a string builder to create your XML you won't have to worry about this. Here are some links to get you ...

I don't see any real details in your post on the MSDN forum or in this post - the error message in your original post had to do with rule loops - but the subject line and KB were about loopback - two different things.
What is your form doing? Is it trying to connect to SharePoint web services?

Mind posting your code? I'm wondering what the variable "sb" is.

Hi - where did you put the [last()]? Looking at your schema screenshot, I'd think this:
../my:CurrentStateGroup[last()]/my:CurrentStateText
would work as your default for LatestCurrentState.

To the best of my knowledge, InfoPath isn't going to let you do this with a submit email data connection. I imagine it can be done with custom code, but the form would have to be full trust at that point.

Have you tried looking at the form code and making your changes there? Because this seems like an issue with the custom code.... you could run it in debug, see what's going awry?
