Well, I don't know if your markup could be rendered in a dataview or not. Perhaps someone who is more familiar with SharePoint than I am will be able to address that question.
For the sake of organization, here's the link to your other post on this.

If you are using IP 2003 and you want to use C#, I'm afraid you are going to have use Visual Studio. If you don't have Visual Studio, you can use InfoPath 2007 (if you have a copy) and set the language to be C# compatible for the 2003 object model. If you only have 2003, I'm afraid you'll need to try to find a way to accomplish the ...

It's IP 2003. Does the C# code have to be written using Visual Studio in the .xsn file? For my general scripting I use VBScript. The only ither option I saw was JScript.

Hi, again --
In your other post on this, you didn't mention what version of IP you were using. I'm afraid I'm not terribly VBScript savvy, but for C# for the IP 2003 object model:

The form has a rich text field for formatted text. The forms library then feeds a dataview on a web part page. We really need to display this particular field as rich text with ...

However, I don't know that SharePoint would know what to do with it if you were able to promote it -- if you promote a text field, for example, with the string with markup, it will display the string with the ...

It depends whether your form will be run online or offline.
Suppose you publish your form on SharePoint as a content type, you can create a webservice which determines the user's role based his user name, add this webservice as a datasource.

I got around my problem by letting MS Word navigate to & open directly the Infopath07 form. Then in VBA pick up the XPATHs to the data wanted by using the PRIVATE fields to specify the XPATHs. Then get the text data from the open Infopath form and plunk it into the Word template. The hardest part was handling repeating table rows from Infopath ...
