That's interesting. They are the custom fields I want to use. So it looks like it has broken the link between the document and the Sharepoint site. If I could achieve the same thing, it would be fine - even in Word 2007, the properties / fields are available even if the Sharepoint site is not. The problem is the 5 or 6 dialogs I have ...

Yup, I'm using 2016. I saw a place to enter some project info on the properties for the doc, so I was guessing that was the info being entered in the DIP (like I said, I'm not familiar with these). See screenshot.

I am just wondering if you are using a later version of Word? I gather DIP functionality was discontinued in 2013 / 2016, so if you do not have the functionality, maybe Word just ignores all the associated data? (Second file attached to this post)

That is really strange. When I open the Blank Report document in Word 2007, I get a string of dialogs / errors before I can actually access the document. I have created two files showing them - I will have to attach them to two separate posts as it will only allow me to add up to 500K per post.
