That is just fantastic to hear. I used to be so ... I dunno, delicate about this. I had my form formatted all pretty and was scared to make changes, etc. But the only way you can figure out what is going on sometimes is to actually see the data, and the way to do that is to put stuff on your form. If it is a production form, and you need to ...

In the attached copy of your form, I've added a calculated value to the repeating table that does this. By default, if you are referring to an item in the same dataset as the repeating control is bound to, you'll get the current row's item.

So, the issue I see is that your binding is kind of odd. It almost seems as if you are hoping the main data source will have as many nodes as your secondary data source - but InfoPath doesn't work that way....
You can certainly add a calculated value (not bound to a main data source field) in your repeating table that is bound to your ...

Are the new controls inside a repeating group or section? There are a few places you can check to make sure your new fields are included by default - Tools > Default Values and in the repeating control itself - attach the template to a reply under the Options tab if you'd like me to take a look...

I know you are trying to make things clearer with screenshots, but I still do not seem to understand. Can you attach a sample form under the options tab?

Hi - you'll only ever have a single value in "Calc" - it is a single field in your main data source. You can still use a calculated value - since it is inside the repeating secondary data source section, it will always "know" what row it is in. What is the value you are trying to show here?
-
Well - you could add a field that has whatever you are using for your form id and have it be the same in all instances - I am afraid I don't really think I understand what you are trying to ask....
-
I can see in the template.xml that field4 isn't included in the template you cracked open for that template.xml file, however. :)

Can you attach an XML file I can try the template with so I can verify it also fails for me?
