I just tested in IE 11 and can't repro - I'll find an IE 10 machine and see what happens. This is with a library form tho - so let me know if you are using a list form instead.
-
Howdy - is this a list form or a regular library form? Or are you having the same issue in both? I don't know if I have an IE 10 machine around or if I've got them all on IE 11 at this point, but I can try to repro.

Is the form successfully being checked out when the user clicks the button? Sorry, I really don't have any ideas as to why the form is still read only.

Hooray! Now I can see the issue - you are missing a filter in your defaults - you need to match on line item and record ID. The XPath looks like:
xdXDocument:GetDOM("example")/dataset/table/fy15[../LineItem = current()/../my:drpdnLineItem and ../RecordID = current()/../../../my:drpdnRecordID]
If you add the additional filter, ...

So, what is your rule? In the Value section, when you click fx and open the formula editor, there is a checkbox that says Edit XPath - can you paste the XPath in a reply? I'm guessing you haven't added a filter to the rule. So, when you select the field from the secondary data source, there is a Filter Data button and you can add a filter, ...

Yikes - I am sorry, because you are frustrated, but I am not at all understanding what you are trying to do. I don't know what you mean by an XSN file being generated by the workflow - the file extension is XSN? Have you checked your workflow? And does the actual XML open when you click it, but the issue is it is opening in filler not in ...

Hi - you can just add a rule to each control to hide it if the field is blank - your controls in your summary view can be bound to the same fields in your "regular" view. If the control is not a type that can be hidden, you can put it in a section - those can be hidden. Also, you might want to use calculated values to display your data - ...

Hi - when you say make 4 - 5 copies of the form ... maybe it would be easier to publish as a content type? Then use the content type in the different libraries? When you create a new XML with a template, you'll see in the XML (open it up with a text editor) an "href" attribute that links the XML to the original template file. So if ...

Okay, so the sample doesn't really help because it doesn't have whatever logic you have in your actual form that is failing. Looking back at your original post, you say:
all the (inner) repeating sections from the first repeating section above it appear with their values. These values are bound to the Record ID chosen in the dropdown of ...

I'm assuming the code is on the button and the button is inside the repeating NewAssessment table / section?
XPathNavigator Group = e.Source;XPathNavigator newRow = Group.Clone();
newRow.InsertBefore(Group);
