Hi Steve,
To trigger SharePoint alerts based on a value in your form's date field you will have to write code. Qdabra sells a Web service (DBXL) that includes support for data-driven notifications so that you can mark forms overdue if they are beyond a certain date, but the triggers are based on when the form's assignment or workflow ...

Hello
I took over Sharepoint admin (and hence InfoPath forms) as an extra job in my company a few months ago.
I'd never played with either until that point but everything has been fairly straightforward.....until now!
We use Sharepoint 2003. I've been asked if I can set up an alert email when a specified date, set in the date picker, ...

Thanks for your reply once again. I have the template versioning and I have reinstated the original template which make the forms and data to work but it's showing data upto 255 characters only. Oh yes, there is something else I am wondering about... InfoPath allows me to specify responses in a combo box as well as what values to capture. In my case, I have "No" set to the response value of 0 and "Yes" set to the response value of 1; "Not Applicable" is set to 2. The values are being properly captured ...
