Hi,
I really don't think this is possible without an intermediate list, that is, your first form writes the checked items into the list, and then the second form reads those items from the list. Writing from a form to a list probably requires code.
The other option would be to somehow pass parameters from one form to the other, but that ...

This error happens when fields are deleted or fields are moved around in the schema. Are you sure that you have not moved around the schema nodes?

Try this:
1. Query List A
2. User makes a selection in the Dropdown. (MSLB is not shown to user yet.)
3. Based on that selection for List A, query (filtered) List B.
4. Show MSLB so that user makes selection in MSLB.
It should be straightforward (if you're on SharePoint 2010 / InfoPath 2010) since these allow you to filter the data ...

I'm not sure I understand the question. What about just leaving the InfoPath setting to "Automatically determine"?'
Would that cause issues?

Within InfoPath, you can use rules and formatting to disable fields, or hide buttons, thus ensuring that users cannot make changes and resumbit.
We have some free, introductory training on this site, which might be a good guide as you start to learn InfoPath. Let me know ...

Hi Jessica,
If it's a SharePoint List form, I would check the SharePoint list itself, to see the data types for the columns. If could be that there's a column limited to 255 characters (for example). I'm attaching a screenshot.

Hi-
Any columns that you wish to retrieve from a SharePoint form library need to be promoted properties.
So I would first check the (source) form promoted properties, then try the data connection in the new (target) form.
Good luck!
